Not sure whats a soft rebuild is but the warranty being offered is 4yr/48K.

 

That sounds pretty reasonable really.

 

Update: transmission is now fixed, also replaced the torque converter, both axles and hub bairings as prevenative maintnance. no more slippage or hard bumps between shifts.

Also at the same time I got the motor rebuil even though nothing was broken internally but I had all the gaskets changed the cam and crankshafts swapped for new and new pistons, rings, lifters, valves. New fuel and water pump and bunch of things related to the cooling and fuel delivery systems, new AC since my old one was out even though I never use it.

but I'm having a baby girl in April and I want my car to be ready since I actually do enjoy driving my monte most and have no need for a new bigger car, I'll trade the MKZ for an MKT if my wife complains about the room of her car and my daughter will be trailing in that car 99% of the time.

Ps. Now when I floor the gas pedal my car lays some major rubber lol (after i properly broken in the motor) it never did that even when It was still new, and everything comes with a 4yr/48k mile warranty including labor costs with a total of $3100 spent.
