Default 01 LS Transmission Rebuild ????

Hey everyone, I am having to rebuild my transmission in the next week or so and I want to make sure I take care of everything while its being done. Right now i am planning on changing both CV Axles, Transmission Mount and Engine Mount & Stabilizer links. Am I missing anything or any suggestions. My friend owns a Transmission shop and is doing the work for me for $1400.00 and they are going to do all the extra stuff if its right there for free. so if you can give me any pointers on what might need to be changed i would greatly appreciate it.

email TEP and ask what he recommends on the rebuild.

tripleedgeperformance.com

It really doesn't sound like you are changing/rebuilding anything of importance, you should upgrade while you are in there.

Repairing, It starts to act funny when I sit in traffic. It starts to whin and jump and everything. Code p1811 is showing, which i have read is long shift. So i was going to have it rebuilt being that I have changed the fuild hopeing to correct the issue and it has not. Now if i knew what i needed to upgrade i might do so if the price was right. I will have to email TEP and look into it.

$1400 is a lot if your friend is doing the work...

I would shop around, would almost rather go with a low mile used tranny than spending that amount.

Well i travel around everyday and i have been to many shops, infact just about all of them around my area and they all want 1800 to 2400 so 1400 sounded pretty good.

You should put on the hardened 4th clutch shaft and the Sonnax Sure Cure kit.

And refill with Dexron 6

If you just rebuild with stock parts it is silly and kind of a waste of time even bothering with the rebuild.
