Lou it's a 4 door hardtop V6, not the little 2 door ragtop version. Still, despite the 4 doors, it probably has less back seat room than a Cavalier. I thought I needed a 4x4. I wish i hadn't made the trade, but it has been a very reliable vehicle, anyway.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!! My monte carlo is super close to being paid off, and I don't want another payment. I'm buying a house in the next few months, and another car payment is the last thing that I need. I have always had a truck since I was 16, the Dale Jr. monte is the first CAR I've ever owned. I do quite a bit of driving, and not a whole lot of hauling, which is why I wanted a 4 cylinder, 5 speed truck. And I just wanted it to be able to haul small stuff, like small furniture, push lawnmower, ect. And I can get quite a bit of free "crap" from the company I work for that I can just haul home haha. I have owned three 4 cylinder 5 speed Nissan pickups/frontiers and they have been the best. I am going to keep the Monte and just find another Nissan pickup for a couple grand. Thanks for all your input guys!

Hi `Cody,
Can I ask you a personal question (?)
Are YOU on `Drug's ? ~> LOL
May I ask why you want/need/desire a Truck ?

or

I think if you got it , you would sure miss your AweSome SuperCharged Monte Carlo, but it's your $'s and your choice.
I think you should get what you want 4-Sure...

I had to sell my Monte to pay for college & now I'm just driving a 4 banger Toyota company truck...It's a great little truck for work, but I know I'd sure want a Monte likes yours instead.
Good Luck on your decision, and please let us know what you decide....Below is a review from Edmund's on a 2012 models

What Edmunds Says

The 2012 Chevy Colorado still looks sharp, but inside and underneath it lags behind the competition in both passenger comfort and overall refinement.
Pros

Affordable; strong V8 performance; wide variety of configurations.
Cons

Mediocre interior fit and finish; weak power and towing capacity from base engines; aging design; disappointing crash safety scores.

Thanks. A home will hold its value a lot better than a pickup that will be worth 4 grand in 5 years lol

the only way i would trade a monte for a colorado is if it had the 5.3 L in it. I have only seen one of them but overall they are a pretty cheap feeling truck

I like the whole concept of putting the 5.3 v8 in the colorado, but it not fast by any means. But the 2wd 5.3 colorado runs a tenth of a second slower than the supercharged monte in the quarter mile. Not worth the 28k base price of a 2wd v8 colorado. I can build a streetable 11 second s10 for 28 grand!
