Nice. One of the guys in my Reserve unit has a Fairlane that is his daily driver. I think it's a 72. I really want an old Cougar myself. I've always liked the first generation.

I'll second that. Also, it's great to see two classic cars back on the road instead of going to the crusher.

They're on the road too. I'm approcahing 6,000 miles on that Torino, since we got the Fairlane in 2010, it has about 3000-3500 miles... but not all those miles are since restoration.

And I know how forutnate I am to have my dream car and to have had the dad I do to guide me on this path.

Default 68 Torino

HI Cowboy. I know the white Ford is a 1968 Torino. But the other Ford you say is a 1968 also??? I thought only the 1969 Fairlanes & Torino's came with the hood scoop ? I had both after totaling my fastback. I bought a 68 Fairlaine. Not till 1969 Did I see that scoop. I was at Desert Valley auto parts here in Phoenix. They have their own show on TV. I saw 3 fastback Torino's while we were there. I wish I still had mine.

You're right. The hood scoop didn't come out until '69. A foremr owner put that on the car nad drilled the hood up to install it, so the only real options were to buy a new hood or use the scoop. It looks cool, but I do'nt really like driving with it... kind of a distraction.

The Monte Carlo.... man, I almost waxed it a few weeks ago, but what it really needs is paint. It's got a spot of clearcoat peeling off the hood. So I'm not waxing it.. want to wear as much off as I can, wipe it down, and I'm going to paint it in the second week of April.

Hi `Duane,
It's great to read that you are going to give your Award winning Monte a paint `job & some love...You are fortunate to have the talent & tools to get the job done. Wish you a problem free paint job Look forward to seeing your progress pic's and final pic's ~> Good Luck
