Mornin guys. Just relaxing after work. Had a fairly smooth day at work today. Supervisor has been on vacation all week and will be gone till next Tuesday.
I hear ya there. They wouldn't know how to handle themselves around a 1200+lb longhorn. My grandma has had longhorns as long as I've been alive. When I tell them to get out of my way, they do. They wouldn't know to count all the cattle when you feed them to make sure they're all there either, or count the horses and ponies as they come into the barn to make sure you don't have to go looking for them either. They haven't stood there with a rifle or sidearm (whatever I have handy) just daring a pack of coyotes to come within range. And yes, they come close enough to use a sidearm on. I always have my .45 when I'm out there for that reason, and plan on picking up a rifle after I get my truck replaced for the same reason.
Anyway, y'all have a good one.

Morning all, 8th day of work. Have a meeting at the main office today, they're supposed to roll out some new standards. Then i have class after work tonight, first time i've actually had to physically go in months, been doing it all online. Going to be a long day for sure.

Morning everyone. Was a late night last night (had to remote into work to finish something after hours and it took a while). But before that went to the local speedway for there Wednesday go kart event. The group I went with only did one run with the go karts (which was about 5 minutes for the run). It was a lot of fun for $4.

Goodmorning all.
Had a large email outing this morning, now trying to catch up to all the emails and mess that I missed out on. Hopefully another busy day to get closer to the weekend

Good morning everyone. I hope everybody is making it through the week ok.
Hey Sarge, we didn't have longhorns, we raised Angus and Charolais. No horns, but working in a close pen or stall with a 2000lb bull certainly makes you stay on top of your game. I rerlaxed my guard one time and payed the price. As I was in the air my Daddy's words of never turn your back on a bull came back to me fast. Luckily the big boy figured picking me up and throwing me was enough. He just kinda staired at me on the ground and turned away. I learned that lesson.
The yotes are getting worse in our area but only in the last few years. I don't blame you, I keep a weapon close buy all the time at the farm.

I grew up on a farm with lots of different critters - mule and whitetail deer among them. My dad is a big 'ole boy, but was raised off the ground about 3 feet when he was gored by one of our big bucks in rut. Luckily it missed all the major organs, but we all had a bit more respect for that buck after that
