I believe there are aliens, and they're slowly convincing all MCFmembers to sell their Monte's so they can take them back to their home planet. They even got Wiz Kidd's Tony Stewart edition.

 

The easiest way to answer the "alien" question is to consider the size of the universe as we know it. With our current technology, we know there are approximately 10 to the 42nd earth-like suns in the universe...and those are just the ones we can see. We also know that some of thesestars have planets orbiting around them.

How can we mortals comprehend such numbers? Well, we really can't, honestly. One of the best ways to try, however, is to consider every blade of grass on the planet Earth. Multiply that number by 10,000, and that's how many earth-like suns we can currently see. What this means, obviously, is that there must be millions of life-supporting planets in the universe. Tobelieve otherwise, IMHO, is absurd. But what if we are indeed the "only ones" in this vast universe? To me, the thought of that is much more frightening than a few-million other planetssimilar to our own. [:-]

 

The problem here is that we take things we don't know but are guessing at, and pretend we know them. Then we extrapolate. For example, all data on the size of the universe, the number of stars, the quality of those stars, the likelihood of planets orbiting each star, etc, are extrapolations based on unproven theory and our own very limited experience (n=1). Look at quantum physics twenty years ago versus now, and be impressed by the humility most real scientists embrace. They "Know that they do not Know", as did Socrates.
I am unconvinced that our universe is vast (estimates change regularly), that any star beyond ours is capable of supportinga planet with organic life, or that we are even capable of comprehending the concepts that could ultimately answer our deepest questions.
Oh, and I live in Roswell and have seen nothing to even suggest that what "happened" here was anything more than a government cover-up of confidential aircraft testing, at best.
Still, I voted "maybe", as I would not pretend that the answers to such questions can be certain for any of us.
