Keane I did a quick search for your fuel tank. The spectra number is CR-3B. I found the tank for as low as 85.00 plus shipping. This is the way to go. This tank has been available for close to twenty years. I bet you can find a store up in your area that has a new old stock tank that you can get cheap. There are not many Horizons up in New York and New England.

No there aren't many horizons around here. Only thing my dad is worried about is if we replace the fuel tank who knows what else will crumble and have to be replaced.

Keane before coming to Florida in 1999, I worked at a salvage yard in Milton Vermont. We sold new gas tanks and radiators as well as the metal salvage. I was the office manager and was very involved with the new product part of the business. We used to also install what we sold. I suspect that your tank is leaking at a spot under one of the two straps or at the seam where the two halves of the tank are joined. Salt and moisture got between the strap and tank and the seam had a ridge or shelf where dirt, salt, and moisture sat and rusted out the tank. Worst case scenerio is that you will need to replace the straps, rebuild or replace the sending unit, and replace the rubber grommets. As long as the floor of the car is solid you won't have any other issues. More and more of these parts are becoming available.

Very possible, its very difficult to see where the gas is coming from. More than likely a new tank will be in the future as that should be a permanent solution. Only other thing we have to work on is controlling rust under the car and patching a hole or 2.

Been searching plenty of things tonight, new banks, apartments. Could never afford an apartment around here atleast not on my own
