Default Summer Concerts

So how many concert goers are there on this here forum? Anyone see or plan on seeing concerts this summer? Which ones?

Any favorite concerts that you've been to?

My first concert was Kid Rock last year at the Sturgis Bike Rally. Pretty amazing, also saw 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven later that week. This year I'm thinking of going down to Denver to see Crue Fest 2 (Mötley Crüe, Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool, and Charm City Devils) on the 4th after I see Korn at the Rally on the 3rd for my birthday. I really wanted to go see the Stimulus Tour (Shinedown, Staind, Halestorm, and Chevelle) but I'm working during the four different dates around me.

every darn weekend there is a good concert, i have a work event out of town. grrrr.

i'm not much into the big huge stadium-type concerts, i enjoy more the smaller local club shows. but even that i haven't done in a while. when i was younger there were a lot of local bands i was friendly with and followed around, but they've mostly since broken up and i just haven't gotten into any of the newer local bands.

last time i went to one of the big outdoor concerts was probably 8 or 9 years ago, warped tour, i got elbowed in the forehead by some jackass in the mosh pit, bled a lot, and spent the rest of the day in the first aid tent, $60 for tickets -wasted-.

to me it's hard to enjoy those kinds of shows unless you're in a "skybox" type thing, or have actual seats up close where you can actually see the stage and the performer. otherwise, especially if you're short like me, it's hard to see over everyone in front of you if you're on the floor, and i can't justify spending $40-50-60 up to $100 on tickets to watch a show on a jumbo screen since the performers look like ants because my seats are so far away.

i have seen Linkin Park about 6 times or so and they were all before they got really popular so they were in smaller venues, man do they put on a phenomenal show. they played once with cypress hill - THAT was fun. B-real came out smoking a huge joint, then during "hits from the bong" he actually ripped a 6 foot bong on stage. we were right up in the front and could smell it. i haven't the slightest idea how they're legally allowed to do that!!!

concerts used to be so much more fun when i was a kid! NKOTB at the civic center, 3rd row center FTW!!!

edit - PS - i'm jealous you saw 3 doors down. if there is one band i would go out of my way to see it is them.

he accidentally posted the thread twice. the other one should be deleted by the mods once they have a chance.
