Our June comparison test at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, kicks off a new partnership between Road & Track and the facility that will feature a wide array of events over the course of the year.
Earlier this year we featured this country club-like facility in our cross-country Audi R8 Odyssey story (April), and were greatly impressed by the high quality of the amenities such as the clubhouse, garage areas and recreational facilities. Since then, John Morris, owner and CEO of Spring Mountain, has added condos, more garage space and plans to add a third loop to the circuit along with a drag strip and a new go-kart track.
In addition to offering memberships, Spring Mountain also hosts the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, which features no fewer than five Corvette ZR1 school cars, along with an assortment of Z06s, Grand Sports and soon-to-be-added Camaros. Other schools offered by Spring Mountain include instruction in Lotus Elises and Radical sport racers.
As part of the new partnership, Spring Mountain developed a two-day Road & Track performance driving experience, slated to begin this spring and a Road & Track Fantasy Camp scheduled for the fall. In addition to offering the schools and camps, Road & Track will continue to use the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch for comparison tests and events.
