Default First Monte Carlo Victory?

Ok, here's my question.

When did the Monte Carlo first get to Victory Lane in NASCAR?

Bonus points if you tell where and who drove it.

I Believe that Dale first put the Monte in Winners Circle in Bristol in 1979.

But before that was Cale Yarbough drove one to several victories as did Richard Petty. There were no first Generation wins,

According to my sources, you are in the right decade.

Hint#2

The drivers initials were. C.G. It was a fairly historic race. The race went caution free.

Well the only one I can think of without getting the Master text book out. (yeah I got one) with the initials CG is Cecil Gordon. But that is a S.W.A. Guess
