Another good tip is cracking your windows in the heat. A lot of us have the auto-dimming windows and in extreme heat the liquid in those can evaporate.

I use the inchannel weathertech rain guards, and it allows me to keep my windows cracked all the time even if it rains. Since doing this, I haven't had to replace my mirror. Prior I had replaced my rearview mirror twice!
