Pontiac Is Back Ad
The bad thing about the original 'ad' is how many websites just used the top title as click bait to draw views to their site (before revealing it was a joke). I had more than a dozen on my suggested website feed after I'd clicked on one.
Not saying this link is one, just talking on a tangent.
I am sad to see Pontiac gone though and would love to see an actual comeback at some point. My daily driver for the last probably 15 years has been a Pontiac. Assuming no one crashes into my GTO, it'll probably be a 20 year run. The numbers of good condition cars is dwindling (and the desirable low mileage survivors keep climbing in price), so I'll probably be forced to something else for the next go around.
I recently got a really cool piece of vintage Pontiac memorabilia. I got a pair of auto mechanic fender covers that were Pontiac branded/printed m that also had my grandpa's nickname printed on them back from his mechanic days. Definitely going to make some kind of garage wall art out of them at some point.

I agree with Bumpin', this ad has generated an insane amount of ClickBait! Even though I saw the original ad included the line about it being a joke, I actually fell for a GMauthority.com link with the headline "Is GM Bringing Pontiac Back?", thinking these yahoos would actually have an answer to the question in the headline or some insight, but instead the article was as much fluffy and speculation as ALL the crap circulating. When I first saw the ad, I noticed lack of use of Trademark/Registered on the Firebird logo, no mention on the ad as to who published it. Big flags to me this was a hoax, but I am curious who did it and why? Such as, I wondered if TransAm Depot did it to get people googling for Firebird/TransAm and find their site. Did GM do it to see how much activity it would get and use that data to determine *if* they wanted to attempt to resurrect the brand. Could it have been Car and Driver working with GM on a late April Fool's joke??
But it does really become annoying how fast this went wild on the Internet and how many YouTubers, influences, bloggers and reporters went nuts to create 100% USELESS content around one ad and have NOTHING worthwhile to contribute. I watched the first one I saw (because I had no other source) and clicked one or two different links after that. One of them you had to scroll a few paged of ads and useless paragraphs to get to where they FINALLY admitted "we know nothing more than you do" (in their own cryptic words). Stuff like that makes me want my click back!!!
