SAVANNAH, GA (January 18, 2011): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have charged one man and are seeking another after shots were fired in a cross-town pursuit and two stolen cars were recovered.
Keenan Ramon Green, 19, was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats and acts, fleeing and attempting to elude police, and theft by taking -- motor vehicle after he fired a weapon at Patrol Officer Jason Pagliaro.

The officer was in the Paradise Park area driving up to a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo that had been reported stolen earlier today when he was fired upon by someone in a nearby red Monte Carlo.
At least two rounds shattered the back windshield of the police car and struck the Plexiglas shield separating the front and back seats.
The officer pursued the red vehicle through city streets until it was boxed in by converging police cars and stopped on 51st Street. Police fired two shots in an attempt to disable the vehicle before the suspect was taken into custody. Green was being treated at Memorial University Medical Center for minor cuts received when glass was shattered in the car he was driving and for complaints of shoulder pain. He is expected to be taken to the Chatham County Jail after treatment. The officer was not injured.
The white Monte Carlo was found wrecked and abandoned at Dunwoody and Edgewater Streets. Police are seeking the driver as the investigation continues.

Police Chief Willie Lovett commended the manner in which his department conducted the pursuit and arrest.
"This was a drastic situation that could have endangered others, but our officers heeded their training and avoided that," he said. "We avoid pursuits whenever possible but anyone who fires upon a police officer will fire at anyone and they must be apprehended."

UPDATE:

A 19-year-old is going to prison for more than three decades after shooting at a Savannah-Chatham Metro Police officer.

Kennan Green pleaded guilty to several charges related to the January shooting. The judge sentenced him to 45 years, which includes a 20-year concurrent sentence for burglary.

The dashcam video from Officer Jason Pagliaro's cruiser shows Green speeding off after being pulled over. The video shows Pagliaro chased following Green's vehicle and Green shooting at his cruiser.

The shots broke out the patrol vehicle's rear window and one shot hit the Plexiglas behind the officer's head.
