I wonder if the original video game, "Pong", caused a lot of property damage when it came out in the late 70's/early 80's???

Oh yeah, and the text messaging and voice mail thing that was mentioned...
That reminds me of a co-worker who once did that to a buddy of his just for laughs.
Of course, alcohol was a factor. But you probably guessed that. ROFL.

 

Actually there was an arcade out before Pong called "Space Computer" or something like that. The only memorable thing about it was that it weighed more that 700 friggin pounds.

As far as Pong, all you did was move a lever up and down with each hand on a 8 inch or so remote control. It allowed you to change the ball direction in mid flight completely ignoring physics.

So there weren't any accidents with it that are known. The arcade version used a paddle wheel.

 

Ahh had it backwards... it is Computer Space. That was the first arcade game.

This one should come as no surprise to any video game history buff. "Computer Space" was the first commercially available arcade game ever, released back in 1971. With its molded retro sci-fi look, this fiberglass cabinet is an absolute gem in the minds of collectors whether it's the original 1-player or the 2-player version. While the game itself was never a big hit, people are always excited by the chance to see one of these rare machines in person. And a true testament to just how awesome the build of the cabinet is, even though there weren't a ton of these machines produced, they still made their way into popular culture. The "Computer Space" game appeared in the movies "Jaws" and "Soylent Green".

I can't see the video here at work, but I assume that is the one where the bikini "wii" girl is on the right and the other girl is on the left like PC vs Mac commercials? If so, yes...that isan interesting commercial. I think I wouldgo catatonic ifsomeone smashed my DLP with a wii-mote!!

Man I could never have one of these in my room. My 27" Flat Screen TV is up against the wall, to the right of that is a big window, and behind me to the left is that big racing curio with all my cars in it. sitting on top of hte entertainment center and above that on shelves are all my model cars. to the left of the TV is my stereo, and to the right of the TV, a computer monitior (used to be a computer there, but when we got high speed my parents computer acted quirky so I slid my comptuer in here)

So yeah..... if I had a Wii, its just a disastor waiting to happen.

 

That commerical came out the first month the wii did. But its still funny to watch. I've had my wii for over a year now, with tons of drunk wii nights(which can be very funny), and yet to have somebody break something.

 

I just get a kick out of the youtube junkies that bash each other in video. I just look at it this way, I can go anywhere and find a PS3 on the shelf. The only place I can find a Wii is on Ebay with a 50 - 100% mark up.
