Gregg, is this the color of gold you're referring to? My dad has a '68 Fairlane that color. Restored it as well.

 

Duane mine was a little darker than that. Your dads car looks gold in this pic. Mine was more copper.

 

Duane I looked up a 68 Ford color chart online. The color that most closely resembles what I had is their candy apple red. It sure doesn't look like candy apple red on the paint chart nor on my car but I guess that is what it was.

 

That color fades to be darker. And Ford's candy apple red isn't really waht I would call candy apple red so it could be.

Except for the color, the roof, and the wheels that is my car. Lol. Mine had the GT wheels and the hood scoop and those same tail lights. Perhaps in the future I will get another. A pace car edition would be really cool.
