I don't see whats cool about it. They are re-releasing a 5 year old+ model. This is not the way to stay cutting edge in the market. The name is ridiculous. And I don't know what made them think they need another sedan, albeit a faster one, in their line up. I think they know this will not be a big seller. They will stand a better chance selling the ute truck and wagon versions

Its cool and all, but not exciting as we had the commodore here before. Suposidly its supposted to get a redesign, not sure if we'll see that here or not. But i agree they should really import the ute. People will buy that so fast GM exec's heads would spin.

A fast sports pickup really would be a blast of fresh air. Nobody is doing that really. GM tried it with the SSR 10 years ago and it failed, but not because of performance (at least on the later gen). I don't know why they fail to grasp this. GM has so many great cars historically. Iconic stuff. And I think that is why we love them. In 30 years, what will we remember about these cars of today? It ain't gonna be the SuperSport...

Friend: " so what do you drive?"
you: "an SS"
Friend: "An SS what?"
you: "um an SS that's red?"
Friend: "Oh...so does it have a real name?"
you: I guess not

LOL it definitely needs a better name IMO.

This would be awesome. And that is so what I'm talking about! Nobody would ever forget such a car - even with the lousy name. They would be talking about this car forever. Legendary movie stuff. Not gonna happen

Totally what I'm talking about too. The anything-but-a-sports-car doesn't help the clarification or defintion. Its so hard to believe that GM is choosing this to be the definition of "Super Sport". I might have to de-badge my car....

Well, I'm not saying I completely like the name Chevy SS Performance. But is it really different from Ford naming a car the Ford GT 40? Aside from the number 40, it's pretty much the same thing.

Namewise, I agree. Not a great name that GT40. It sucked... namewise. But at least the car was awesome! And it was paying homage to a great car of the past. This SS is a stupid confusion that hurts generations of the Chevy brand and reduces the nameplate to an antiquated sedan. Don't they still sell a Camaro SS?
