This 69 Stang won best Mustang at this car show a couple of weeks ago. The engine is spotless. I love these old muscle cars. I'm even using Ford blue for my text color on this thread.......

Or am I confused ? I knew a guy around here who owned a 70 (?)

The Fairlane was the predacessor to the Torino, not the Galaxy. The Galaxy was Ford's large car from about 1959 or so up through about 68 or 69, but it was not the same as a Torino. The Torino came out in 1968 and was considered an upscale Fairlane, with the Torino becoming the main Ford intermediate in 1970. The LTD replaced the Galaxy somewhere around 69 or 70 and continued through the 70's as Ford's large car.
