Two Year Torino Anniversary!!!
Today also marks a Torino land mark... 2 years ago today that car rode home on a car trailer... I know the day because April 9th was Maundy Thursday in 2009, and today marked 2 years to teh day that I brought it home. I gave it the correct valve covers. A 390 GT engine came with chrome valve covers that said "Power by Ford" on them. I had a set that said "Power by Ford", but it was off a '68 Galaxy. I got the right set now and put them on yesterday, which was the day I did an initial inspection and left a deposit to pick up the car the next day.
Coincidently, the car got to take it's first ride in the rain today after coming home from teh show... got a little heavier than expected, but it's a Ford and it cna take it

Congrats on your 2nd anniversary Duane. Looking good! I have to say that car needed you to save it from potentially being lost to the crusher. The fate of far too many classics now.
Way to go dude!

I was at a car show tonight and someone actually saved a car from the crusher and had it at the show... made a little rat rod out of it. Metal prices are high, they aren't even trying to save trim, good fenders, good truck beds, good bodys, or anything anymore like they used to try to save before sending stuff to the crusher. It's teh rat rod built out of a pick up truck in this picture that was saved.... had some surface rust, but nothign was rusted through... and if you can see the body work in person, you could tell that they didn't do much bondo or metal patching.... haha Think he said that truck was a couple hours away from going in the crusher when he saved it though.
Here's the cruise in pics from tonight... rain drove us out, kept the number at a stout 8 compared to about 30-40 usually. The Duster was a new addition.. the rest are regulars.
Wimpy's does not describe the cars here... describes the guys who didn't come out tonight despite rains coming.

HAve you figured out what you want yet? Already have one? We had a '50 Chevy one time... not much on trucks... fun for a while, but wasn't what we wanted, and it kind of got thrown on us by my grandfather.... we're more car people, my dad and I.... there is a newer Corvette, 2005 model, hiding behind my Torino in a couple of pictures. Have to give you guys some pictures one night when the rest of the crowd shows up.
