That sounds like a great idea. My fiance has put the Firestone Indys on all of his classic cars and has no complaints. Our 85 SS had Eagle GTs on them when we bought the car - but since owning the newer ones I wouldn't recommend them. Bought a set for my 05 and they are crap - only lasted not even 3 years or 30000 miles.

The key to any good mileage on any vehicle regardless of brand is tire pressures and regular rotations and balanceing......This may have been what u experienced! and Explains the poor mileage you got out of them!

That was not the issue - I always check tire pressure and fill them/rotated them when needed - Eagle GTs are too soft of a tire and wear very quickly - even under normal driving conditions.

I never been a fan of firestone tires an will never run a goodsmear tire.Every goodsmear tire I ever had were junk.
Now the BFG radial T/A I like have 2 on the front of the monte that are about 10 years old an been on 3 different cars an never had an issue still have great tread an no abnormal wear.
