New tail lights for the Grand Am
So there are different after market tail lights for the '99-'05 Grand Ams. There is a style I've liked but it was the "tinted" or "smoked" version. I recently bought a set of the non-tinted ones used (the deal was too good to pass up). They just arrived today and I threw them on the Grand Am.
I think they look alright, but I think tint is a MUST! I spoke with a friend of mine who has done some tail light tinting and said come spring, he can hook me up. He does great work (the tails I've seen him tint have a glass finish).
Anycase, here's some pics as I changed the tails out.
BTW - If you look close at the 3rd break light, you can see the LED dots behind the red diffuser. I modded that a while ago. It no longer uses 3 bulbs! It has the back board with LEDs from a Monte 3rd brake light. Cheapest LED 3rd brake light I could set up!
And yes, I know the car is dirty.....

Looks like the old ones had seen better days, weathered and all. I say you hit a homerun with your new style. Actually dresses up the cars rear end pretty well. A little bling bling effect, makes the car look more expensive... Beemer like

That statement is par for this car. I got a great deal on it and I use it as my winter beater. But it's had a lot of rough edges.
Seeing these tails at night, they look great/awesome. I get them slightly tinted and they will be awesome for this car.

It is.... My Monte is under the car cover to the left
Eh, this weather is not the greatest for a quality wash. It's cold when you hand dry.....
I shoulda done that BEFORE I pulled them out. Since my friend said he can take the tails shortly after the new year to work on them, I took advantage of reasonable weather to put the stockers in. I'll get more once they are tinted
But in the dark, they do look great!
See, it IS Monte related
