Default need some quick help

i know its been a while since i been on...alot has been going on with work in such..i'll fill in later.....but i got a question that i need help in like the next hr...haha..i found a nice set of wheels on craigslist for super cheap here is the ad
http://scranton.craigslist.org/pts/1542113658.html
the bolt pattern is the same...and the offsets are like factory mustang wheels...so thats not a prob cuz many people have factory mustang wheels on their cars...the question is they are 17x9s is the sightly wider wheel going to get me a problem and could i run a 225 size tire on it?

Which car are they going on? I know the 17x8s on my z34 come very close to rubbing on the strut so I doubt 9" wide wheels would fit, but I know the suspension setup in on the 6th gens are different so they may fit.

I got the 17x6.5 rims on my 2004, with 235 tires. And they just barely clear the front struts. I get about a finger's width of gap between the tire and the strut.

Anyone know the width of the 17s they put on '06/07 Montes?

My point is they fit with no problems as do the 17s they stuck on some of '00-05 Montes.

I read that as being 9.5 wide and I think that is way to wide for our cars.

Is the offset the same on the Mustang rims he's interested in?

The 06 & 07 SS Montes come with 18's don't they? I think he may have to try one wheel on the car and try it.

By the way, to anyone who knows...

Is the front suspension and wheel wells the same size on the 00-05 as the 06/07? I keep getting conflicting info.

Not mine.

Only the SS or anyone who upgraded got an 18" wheel on their '06/07 Monte.

The LS, 1LT, and 2LTs got a 16" wheel in 2006. The 3LT and LTZ got a 17" wheel. (but not all 3LTs)
