Default NASCAR Hall of Fame, August 2010, PICS!

My roommate is from Maryland, and this year I convinced him and his parents to go with us to Charlotte, NC to check out the NASCAR Hall of Fame as we are all fans. I didn't take pictures of everything, but I took a few.

Whne you go in, there is the line of cars on the left that lead you upstairs and show you the banking of various tracks. After that, you come to a place where you see engines, cutaways, and other things to that affect. There is an old Jimmie Johnson hauler to show you how the team haulers look. There is a series of simulators that are from iRacing and you run the track that is coming up this week. There is a wall of illegal parts that NASCAR has taken from teams over the years. My personal favorite of what they had was a Gatorade in-car drinking system that was full of lead. They had some illegal carbureators, intakes, an illegal seat, and some other toys.

Up stairs is some memorablia such as fire suits, trophies, there are seats you acn sit in, and and little plaques to certain cars that have dominated NASCAR over the years.

In a rotunda above the cars on the fake track thing, there is a series of shrines to all people who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Here is Petty's 1979 car.

Petty, Bobby Issac, David Pearson, Cale Yarbroough, Darrel Waltrip!

Allison, Ron Hornaday, Dale Earnhardt, Jef Gordon, Kurt Busch, and Jimmie Johnson!

Matt Kenseth's Winston Cup Champion trophy

The trunk lid off of one of the Wood Brothers Torino/Cyclone's

Ryan Newman's Daytona 500 Trophy

One of Petty's championship trophy's.

Ode to the Dodge Charger

The two cars that wrecked on the last lap fo the 1979 Daytona 500

Myself and Bill France, Jr.!

Simulators... $5 for 5 minutes of driving. They have a board of who the fastest all day are.. I was number 3 when I left

This is a spotters stand from Daytona... you can see a cut out on the right side of this picture.

Lee Roy Yarbrough's 1969 Talladega Torino!

A Sam Bass painting as you enter the Buffalo Wild Wings that is a part of the Hall of Fame. Petty's Ford holds off a pack of Chevrolets.
