Default My son has decided to take up karting again

After 4 years of no racing except for an occassoinal trip to the drag strip in his Honda, he's decided to get back into karting. Just flat out can't afford cars or he'd be doing that. He has one sitting here but they changed the classes and they quit running that one here. Well anyway, maybe his "need for speed" will get satisfied this way, LOL. This is a proven winning kart, won some championship last year. He's going to get his IKF license as soon as he can so he can run in that series. I don't know too much about it but I guess I'm about to get a crash course in it now, LOL.
First heat he was loose. They did some adjusting, LOL, went the wrong way and was looser the second heat. He finished 3rd in the feature. I can't remember if there were 5 or 6 in his class. Since it was his first time in 4 years on the track and a completely different type of kart, I guess it wasn't too bad. Last time he raced he was in the outlaw class, driving a kart that looked like a mini sprint car. I'm sure there is a huge difference in the handling of a winged kart and a flatbottom.[/align]

(Sorry for the double pic post but I can't get it to delete one )

Wish him all the best, and lots of fun. When you gotta race, you gotta race what you can.

And Mickey, trading the Monte for a Honda truck? tisk tisk!
Just kidding.

yeah i hear ya.
i used to find old subaru's so i could beat them to death
the last oen i had i drove 80miles a day to and from college and it cost me 25.00 to buy becuse of a bad carb gasket.
they were going to junk it becuse of this lol
anyway after about 2 months the fwd. wen tout so i shifted it in to 4x4 mode. and then it drove for the next 2years locked in to 4x4 at over 50MPH 5 days a week .
I think i checked the oil twice and never did a oil change on it. i never had the money and honestly figured it was going to fall apart with in the next day or two. looking back i bet if i had taken better care of it it might have lasted longer LOL
