Man, that thing looks clean for a 90'. I like the old school sport bikes. Overall this bike is nice but I have some work to do. The guy that had it before me painted it a dark plum, I am thinking about repainting it to match my Monte, Galaxy Silver...

Thanks, same here about old sportbikes and same to you on the condition of your bike also.

Ok, ok...just don't ghettofy the thing for goodness sake!! (or rice-ify, that would be worse.)

Hey Dave, you & Montejass will have to get together & line them up

Your bike is `Sweet & you are a lucky man to have all those toys.
Any problems with your LTZ ? The 3.9 is really a awesome engine. I was surprised on how good it performs. Wish you safe miles with all your toys.`Space

The most impressive thing on this car is its cornering ability. You would swear you were in Porsche. But I'll tell you what, I've out cornered a couple of Porsches already. They'll pass me and beat me to a freeway junction and then I'll just blow them away on the cloverleaves. I've taken the LTZ through the same twisties that I take my bike and that car is just a quick through very tight turns as my 2-wheeled beast.

You drove to Vegas and didn't look me up? How rude!![:@]
As far as outcornering a Porsche, was this a beat up '88 944 or something?[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] I think the world of my baby's handling capabilities, but I know they can't out-corner a Porsche (one can dream). I met a 2005 Vette around a nice set of curves and and overtook him through it, but I don't think he was a very good driver. I saw him break going into the first curve...a good driver wouldn't have to on a clear road for this particular curve. He was nervous.
Watch the wetness of the road on a hard curve!! A little water will cut that FWD loose from your control faster than a crack head running from the cops!!

Sorry about that Bigg, it was a one day turnaround a week after I bought the car just to fart around.
But this is fron our own website on the '06 bllurb:
"To ensure that the tires of the new Monte Carlo are tight to the ground all of the 2006 models come standard with MacPherson gas charged four valve struts in an independent coil over suspension setup and strut stabilizer bar in the front. In the rear, the new Monte Carlo also uses a four valve gas charged strut with coil springs and a trailing arm with a trailing arm and rear stabilizer bar, all in a three-link setup."
And this also:
"The FE2 with 17 inch wheels comes standard with the Monte Carlos equipped with the 3.9 liter V6. This suspension system is tuned to be slightly stiffer than the 3.5 liter, and comes with a P225/55R17 all season touring Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires. "
There is no doubt in my mind that this car was made to handle the curves. Or maybe as they say, its just the driver.[sm=gears.gif]

It's both, man!!
Yeah...impressive suspension for a car this size. That's part of the reason I bought mine. I expected it to be a bit cumbersome because it looks long and large, but it sure doesn't handle like a car its size.
Anyone know how a lowering kit affects the factory handling? Of course physics tells us that a lower center of gravity will aide stability in turns, but are lowering springs enough to do an effective height change, or are additional mods (struts, shocks, sway bar, etc.) necessary?
