What powertrain is in there?

 

its got a dual port 1600, im going to put sum different heads on it, dual carb it and put a baja header and the loudest, most obnoxious exhaust i can..... along with slowly restoring the whole thing, itl be my wifes show rig at car shows cause i have my monte. but the bug is my d/d.

 

it looks preaty cool is it front engine rear drive? what model of vw is it i never seen that model before? i always seen the vw bug and the vw bus but not that model. it looks cool and it seems to be a good dd is it water cooled or air cooled?i know if it is air cooled there is alot of after market things for it to give it more umph. i dont know about the water cooled type because it is a different motor unfortunitly the water cooled engine is very rare
