These are part of my emergency kit. You can pick them up dirt cheap at sporting goods stores like Big 5. Pocket warmers are another item to consider adding to your kit. I also have a small plastic tarp to lay on the ground if needed.

 

I also have a bottle of 50/50 dex, oil, sockets, wrenches, coolant elbows, maf spray, a funnel, brake fluid, and a fire extinguisher

 

My ride breaks down so much I pull my tool box with me incase I have to do a rebuild my ride on my way 2 work or travels

the truck i keep almost everything on that list in, partly because i like being prepaired and partly because i pretty much work out of it.

the monte is fairly well equipped, mostly it's got a big box with about 4 gallons of used antifreeze in the truck for when it decides to pee all the coolant out. also keep a quart of oil, power steering / ATF, and brake fluid, a funnel, rags and a cheap flashlight. also have the donut spare properly inflated with the jack & wrenches under the trunk. i'm a bit paranoid because my tires are getting really dry rotted
