Chevrolet looks to deliver some excitement next year beginning with the all-new subcompact Sonic. The same two engines in the Chevy Cruze will power the smaller Sonic, a 1.8-liter inline-4 (135 bhp with a 6-speed auto or 5-speed manual transmission) or the turbocharged 1.4-liter (138 bhp with a 6-speed manual only), both of which make this sub-$15K car a fun and attractive package. 2012 Chevrolet Sonic




An all-new 2013 Malibu makes its debut next year. Its fully redesigned exterior blends sportier styling cues from both Camaro and Corvette. The engine is a new direct-injection 2.5-liter Ecotec, slightly more powerful and efficient than the previous 2.4-liter, which will mate to a newly optimized 6-speed automatic. Chevy will retain the 2.4-liter for use in the Malibu ECO model with eAssist, which will pair a 15-kW electric motor and 0.5-kWh lithium-ion battery for mild-hybrid functionality.

Another star player, the Camaro, gets a revised V-6 engine—the LFX—that’s lighter and bumps peak power output by 11 bhp to 323 bhp at 6800 rpm while returning 30 mpg highway. The interiors of all Camaros get a refresh as well.
Specific to the SS model is the new FE4 sport suspension package, whose adjustments to suspension tuning and geometry are the result of what engineers learned developing the exciting new Camaro ZL1.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1




Chevy is calling the ZL1 the most technologically advanced vehicle of the pony-car class. It’s armed with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 offering 550 bhp sent through a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. The retuned chassis has GM’s Magnetic Ride Control technology and borrows the Performance Traction Management system from Corvette. The ZL1’s launch coincides with the 45th anniversary of the Camaro, which Chevy will commemorate with a Special Edition model.
Last, the Corvette range. Both Z06 and ZR1 benefit from a new performance package tire, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure, mounted on a lighter new wheel. The PTM system has been optimized for these changes and included on both Z06 and ZR1, resulting in an improvement of over 6 seconds at the Nürburgring for the ZR1, with the Z06 running just 3 seconds behind it.

Charger SRT8. I loved the old body style. Now at some point in my life I guarantee I will get this 2012 body style. 2.5 more years til the first paycheck and that bad boy will be that much closer! yes! haha

If all goes as planned, the 10 McLaren dealers in North America will begin receiving production versions of the carbon-fiber MP4-12C in mid-October. Although the 592-bhp, 2866-lb. mid-engine exotic was originally scheduled to arrive a bit earlier in the year, a problem with the head unit for the audio/nav system caused a delay.
