Hope all you folks up north and mid-west stay warm. Looks like we missed most of this stuff. The low this morning was 9, not too bad.

Here's my rant on the weather people and the way they over-dramatize conditions. I understand that -15 is dam cold, I understand wind makes it hazardous. But if it is -15 and you go outside, that is what -15 feels like!! If it is 101 and high humidity and you go outside that is what 101 feels like!!

The wind definitely does make it feel colder than it is. Trust me, I stood outside yesterday evening for 5 min filling up my car - the actual air temp was -9, the wind was blowing pretty hard and it was starting to get uncomfortable just after a couple minutes. Cold, still air is tolerable a LOT longer.

That said, the big hype specifically with the big snow storms is what's out of control. With this last one earlier this week, we were originally told 8-12", that got reduced to 5-8" and then we actually got 3.5". I get that it's hard to predict the weather but they make it seem like the world is ending. We've received the same or more snow from insignificant systems that pass over us. It's crazy.

 

I used the laser to set up the new dots on the cloth. Note the Z/28 front on the wall that I hung a few years ago, Wow I got it right on the center of the room. Lucky deal.

The Black Cowboy hat with the white trim I got as a child and my folks kept it around. It was near perfect when I found it.
