Good morning guys.
-6 degrees, slick roads and another slow go this morning. We got 1.3" of lake effect snow last night and it's still coming down in spots this morning - some of the bands have been very heavy snowfall rates. We're expecting more snow with the next clipper system on Monday - right now local weather is saying 3-6" and TWC is showing 5-8" so we'll see. Our snowfall total for this season so far is roughly 17.0".
Here's some more shots (via Detroit News) of the collapsed Packard Plant pedestrian bridge. Cleanup is ongoing as we speak.
Thanks for adding pics MistreSS . Weather here finally hit nasty and got to -16 this morning and should be like this for next cpl days until snow comes. Got a few calls last night on overheated cars that I'll probably condemn when I look at them. Hopefully there easy fixes as the owners don't have much money for repairs. Stay warm everyone.
I've never heard of the oil freezing in a strut before. I'm sure its possible, but 11 degrees is quite common in the northern states. I rather interested in what you find out .
Yeah the oil doesn't freeze but maybe moisture got in and clogged the passages? Who knows but the problem went away as soon as the warm up happened. I know 11 degrees is not uncommon but this car set for months, we had just got it out to clean it up and and check it out for a backup for her. I just put 200 miles on it with no problem at all...

An update on my Monte's insurance claim. The damages to it from the fallen shed came to $2400 although you can't tell there's any damage from 10 feet away! She is in excellent condition inside and out but does have 209,000 miles. The interior is like new. The insurance company wanted to total the SS. I was skeptical until they threw a settlement price that was way over the KBB value of the car... even with the deduction for me "owner retaining" the car! I jumped on it! They would have been much cheaper fixing the light dents and scratches but this was there choice, crazy to me. Everything was done on the up and up, no shady business so I don't feel guilty. I will post some picture soon of it in the condition now and what it looks like after we massage the scratches, scuffs, and dents. I think you all will agree I came out on the better end.

I like the way you are thinking drivernumber3!!!
Yeah, well there is a song that I used to listen to, back in the day. Called "You got to treat her like a Lady" and if you have one that appreciates that then you have got a keeper.
What's sad is being with the same person for 45 years and I still feel we are strangers in the same place. To late to do anything now.
A few years ago our whole family went to a wedding about 300mile drive.
This was for a long time friend of mine, who's son was getting married. I knew his Sister from way back when and we are friends on S-media.
So we arrive everyone gets out of the Van we Rented and there is a meet and greet before the Wedding.
My friends sister is seated in the area. So I stop to just say hi, she gets up and gives me the most passionate hug I have ever had, the wife says who is that?
I said our friends sister. She goes, Oh!
I saw her again last year at a funeral for my friends Aunt. She was the same way.
I was going to shake hands with her husband but he just ignored me and was talking with somebody else.
I still got to drive 250 miles to see any of these folks. But the thing that I do is "Treat her like a Lady",
I have always done this for my wife, but she I feel just doesn't know how to deal with it?
So now that I have retired some of the friends I had back when I was working and traveling so much will drop me a note, miss you! You were always so nice.
They don't have anyone that opens the doors for them any more? Funny stuff!

Good morning guys. Wife and I are going to the Detroit Auto Show today.
0 degrees this morning. Looks like 5-8" of snow for us on Monday - both local news and TWC pretty much agree on that now. Then next week is going to get brutally cold, like probably hitting records.

Did you win the Tickets you said might be available at the new truck and Blazer viewing?

No, I ended up working late that night and didn't make it to that thing. So NOW we'll experience em at the Auto Show today. Last week I did check out one Blazer RS which was stickered at $51k. At that price I wouldn't buy one new but I'm curious to see what they go for used in a few years. Used is the way to go - got a hell of a deal on my super low mileage '13 Malibu 2.5 years ago.
