It will take me 10 hours to get there. But I love to drive and it will be bonding time for me and the Deuce (Wifey will be tagging along) I have road armor to put on the Deuce and I don't drive her much the rest of the season cept for car shows.

All in all will be a good time I think. Would be even better to hang with some MCF members.

I already reserved a room at the hotel. Lady at the hotel said there have been a lots of people calling about this years show.

I will take lots of pics to bring back here.

I was actually gonna make up a thread seeing if anyone wanted to set up a date in the spring to meet somewhere in Des Moines. It'd be close enough to pull nebraska, iowa, minnesota, wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and south dakota. I know we've got our fair share from iowa and minnesota, and it's within 5 or 6 hours of alot of us.

IDK, just a thought

Maybe us Florida guys could get together and put together a regional meet with an open invitation to all MCF members. Lord knows her in central Florida there is definitely enough lodging and venue space to hold such a gathering. Also being Florida, everyone could use the excuse of a family vacation. Mickey Mouse is a personal friend of mine and I am sure he would love you to come visit (at your expense of course). Shamu over at Sea World and Spiderman over at Universal love guests too. That isn't even considering the beaches and the automotive attractions like Old Town in Kissimmee (Old Town | Eat, Shop, Ride), Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, and although I have not seen it yet the racetrack in Sebring which hosts the concept car endurance race. I have just scratched the surface of all the things to do here.

Justin, I may have overpaid you a little, but it was a last minute thing for you and it was just cool to have a friend there to hang with, I'd do it again man....

I would love to go there next year, but it might not happen with work, I can't be out the last day of pretty much any month because that is usually our busiest time! I did just recently bring it up to my boss though and he knows all about it, so we'll see on that....

also I can't believe nobody has brought up the fact that we may be able to take a lap/ or laps around Bristol Motor speedway.... here are a couple quotes from the moderator (John Harvey NMCOA)

7-1-2011 "I've contacted Bristol Motor Speedway about a possible tour of the facility and also getting our Montes on the famed 1/2 mile high banks. Since they are currently a "Ford" track, they had to get the OK from the GM. That OK has happened. Now, I'm waiting for my contact to return from her vacation. I will keep everyone posted......."

7-13-2011 "We are now 98.34872% of the way there! The contract from BMS is in the mail coming my way!"

also, to join is $35 and to enter show/register is $35 ($70 total) and a new rule from lastyear, you must have a fire extinguisher with your car if it's on the show field......

Chris, if you can't take off, you can always try to come out to Carlisle

It's as far as York, PA was and you could easily do a one-day visit

Tennessee is a little too far for me. I'd be driving to and from there alone.

Like Chibi Mike said. There's definitely a divide between the generations 1-4 crowd, and the 1995 to 2007 crowd. Many old-school car enthusiasts I meet are immediately turned off by the front wheel drive thing. Not saying everyone is like that. Just the one's I've met at local meets, shows, etc...
