That may be true. But many purists will never consider a FWD a muscle car. Or anything other than basic transportation. That's not to say they "hate" the 95-07 Monte's. They just don't consider them to be a true muscle car.

I should say this to be fair:

NMCOA and John Harvey has always done a good job at organizing meets every year. And has welcomed the participation of all Monte enthusiasts. I have absolutely no problems with John or NMCOA. Never did. And encourage people to attend the Monte Nats if possible.

And again. Not all Monte enthusiasts have the attitude we've mentioned. Many, like moderator RJ, own old school Monte's and new school Monte's.

I had the plans for the 11 NATS all set up only to have to cancel just days before. My dad was in the hospital. So I cancel everything only to get told by my parents, "Why didn't you go?"

We all know if I would have............... I'd have never heard the end of it from my mother for the rest of my life.

 

RJ We will have to hookup for sure. I already got the room at Holiday Inn lady said there had been a LOT of inquires about the car show.

 

I never felt ousted for owning a newer Monte. I'm glad that my generation has brought back the classic detail of the original Montes - Knights Crest and script emblems. I had a great time at the Mini meet this summer. I am hoping that the Nationals will come back to the midwest for 2013.
