Default Mercedes pick up truck

Mercedes-Benz plans pickup truck by 2020 | Autoweek

Here's the link^^^. So tell me, I know there's not a lot of info to go on right now but in general is this a good idea for Mercedes? I say yes. Let me know what you think. Pretty sure the picture is a rough sketch by the way.

That truck is not meant for the American market. Or at least, from what I've read up about it. Would it sell if MB sold it in the US? Barely... Lincoln has tried it twice and Cadillac never sold much of the EXTs to really keep em around so I don't think MB will seriously consider selling it in the US.

I'm kinda surprised it took mercedes this long to get in to the truck market, I mean Lincoln and Cadillac have gone down that road, with fair success not that there's a lot, but a lot more than I thought would have sold, and I'm sure the rich people that would buy one of them wouldn't mind spending the money on a mercedes. I do agree with Nas Escobar, on I doubt it may make it to the us market, but stranger things have happened.

Well the interesting thing about Mercedes is that they're diluting the brand in a way. Mercedes is trying HARD to sell to the entry level market, the CLA and GLA (to an extent) being proof of that.

Globally, MB actually has an A class and a B class, which are about Sonic/Aveo sized cars. The A class if I'm not mistaken is the GLA, but not too sure on that.

Pretty sure the truck would be mid luxury, similar to what Buick or Acura is.

Regardless, if there's one German brand that might have luck with a truck, it would be VW with their Amaroc truck.

Yea it even says in the article that there are no plans on selling in the US. I just think its interesting because it would be the first of its kind.

I could see why it would never have a market here because it just looks to fancy and more of an expensive suv. Most trucks you see here are domestic and thats the majority of trucks in my area.
