The "7th generation" designation is disputed by many. Officially, GM says there's only 6 generations of Monte Carlo. The 6th generation covering years 2000-2007.

But many enthusiasts will tell you that there were too many changes in the 2006 model year for it to be considered the same generation. Every Monte Carlo website has it's own view on it. Here on MCF, we just all agreed to call it a 7th generation.

Hope this helps clear things up a little. When you run into people telling you there's only 6 generations.

 

Thank you I use to be on the gm forum and they said that 2000 - 2007 and I thought mine was a first gen
