Btw... you wouldn't happen to have an older brother Zack would you??? My now EX friend Zack had a younger brother Matt who owned a monte who works at a shop in Canonsburg. I'm from Munhall... I know Canonsburg. I've driven past it and thru it more times then I care to remember.... BTW any body place I took it to quoted me 225 and up to fix that dent... thanks for the info on the cold water. I have a hose handy and it blasts ICE cold water!
Also, I rolled the Monte over to 190,000 tonight!!! YAY!!!! (not.)

Thanks alot Robyn.
I do have an older brother but his name is Mike.
With that dent, if you exaggerate the shape a little, (like push the dent out but push it a little farther than necessary) when you hit it with the cold water, it will harden and then when you let pressure off, it will kinda sink back into its natural shape. Just dont do it too much or you may overstretch it.
The contributing factor to repairs being so high anymore isnt so much what the shop charges for labor, but what the materials cost to do the repair. There really isnt much that can be done about it. Sometimes you just gotta grin and bare it you know.

Yeah I know. If I can have my bodyman just pop it out, that's fine, my dad can sand, mud, and prep / paint it. We have all the tools necessary, I just don't trust him anywhere near my car with a heat gun. LOL. I get to spend $200 tomorrow on a pass. wheel bearing assembly that needs replaced. I probably should have done that when I got her inspected BUT.... I was already spending almost $500 dollars then. Exhaust leak, Drivers side bearing assembly, inspection / emissions, oil change (was like TAR). Yeah. Was trying to save money. Now it's getting louder the more I drive it, so I figure "yeah it probably wants replaced". 20 bucks says that fixes the shimmy in the front end. And another 20 says it probably doesn't fix it. LOL

Thanks Wayne for the welcome. Have a good nights sleep, Im about to do the same.
Robyn, I know how you feel. Repairs like to add up all at once for some reason. My old F150 cost me 400 bucks for a full brake job, then the next day decided not to start and cost me almost 100 bucks to track down the failed IAC valve, because of course I replaced the TPS and EGR control solenoid before I found the culprit.
Not two days later the passenger side valve cover started hemeraging oil and cost me 50 bucks for a valve cover gasket and plenum gasket since the pass valve cover is nestled under the plenum. Hmm sounds familiar, like I just did something similar on my monte. Wow, I JUST realized my 302 V8 in my ford and my 3.4 v6 in my monte have basically the same design of the top of the motor, well minus one being DOHC. Weird
Well Im rambling. Feeling a little delirious from lack of sleep. G' night everyone.

[HTML] He's looking to buy the car for his 16 yo daughter?
LOL Tim... yeah I was 16, like... what... 13 years ago... my first car??? A 84 Olds Cutlass Supreme pearl white w/ t tops and a 305 big block v8. Yes her dad is clueless... and so is she, because she's probably the one that was whining "but daddy it's got STRIPES on it I don't LIKE the stripes tell them to take them off!!!" Like as IF I can just ERASE something that's part of the paint job!! Therefore, if you are an IDIOT about cars, you therefore deserve to drive a NEON.
I had my dad to teach me. Maybe I am a b*tch, and I really don't care. She doesn't deserve that car, she'll probably wrap it around a pole.
