thats rough to hear, justin. it seems like our family had the same bout a couple summers back, everyone was dropping like flies. it can be very hard on a family. hopefully, if it is his time, he can go peacefully and pain free.... sometimes, thats better to hope for than a ton of chemo & such only for a few extra painfull months... wish everyone well.

Today was a looooooooong day at work. I got an explorer in that was sideswiped. Will need a new rear door, new front door skin and the fender repaired. The fender was wrinkled like an acordian and it fought me every step of the way, but I kicked its a** and got it primered. And of course, the door they sent us was WRONG and they cant seem to understand that we need one without the wheel flare and the holes to mount it. I dont know how better to explain it, but still it went right over their heads. Im willing to bet we get the wrong door again. Then I painted a fender for an F350 which I swear attracted every piece of dirt in the air like a magnet. I spend twice as long as needed because I had to sand dirt out of every stage of paint. I still will need to sand a bunch of dirt nibs out of the clear tomorrow. Ugh, what a headache.

Hey Matt.. can you fix the dent I got goin on in my bumper?!? LOL I Uh, kinda... scraped something? and coming out of one of them steep *** driveways you know your bumper's gonna hit bottom before your tires do. I got a dent in the corner of my passenger side ground effects, it did crack the paint off but there's no holes or anything and even if there is some JBWeld and mudwork will fix it... My body man (not my dad) who did the work on my 98 said to use a heatgun and it will pop right out?? I'm wanting to call BS on that deal.....

I really dont have a good place to do bodywork at the moment. Our garage/shop is full of plymouth parts, I cant even get my own car in to work on it, lol. Dont know where in pittsburgh you are from, but the body shop I work at is in Canonsburg, washington county. No, the heat gun deal isnt completely BS. You can usually pop dents out of plastic bumper covers and ground effects. Its difficult on smaller parts like your ground effects but not impossible. You need to be careful though because some plastic parts will melt and deform if you put too much heat into them. Once you get the dent popped out, a douse of cold water will re-stiffen the plastic and keep it in the shape you want it. From there its just a matter of doing the body work and paint to get the part perfect.
