Love The Beast
I have seen all the car movies you name it, Christine,The Wraith, Gone in 60 Seconds, all the F&F movies, etc...etc...this outbeats them all by far...
Originally released in Australia, it came here for the tribeca film festival and has been on the speed channel a few times...
If you have not seen it I HIGHLY recommend this movie, it follows Australian actor Eric Bana (Hulk, Funny People, Troy) and his first car a Ford Falcon GT, and the bond he shares with it and how the car bonded his friends together through the years....He decides to enter a famous Australian Race, The Targa Tasmanian Rally....and when an accident occurs he must fight to decide on weather or not to let the car go...or to fix it to it's former glory...
I think first and foremost we can all relate to working on our cars with our "mates", no matter how late at night or how long it takes to get the car together we've all been there...
and when modding a car sometimes theres always a breaking point were we have had enough and are ready to throw in the towel and get rid of it (I Came close myslef) ...this explores that bond on why it's important never to give up...
A few others in the movie include Jay Leno a HUGE car guy, Jeremy Clarkson from Top gear, and even Dr. Phil who provides some helpful insite between man and machine...
Check out the trailer, then go get it!

Enjoy,
