Default Leak somewhere on engine?

So i start my car monday morning.. go around back to stuff in the trunk and i can hear like a gurgling nose coming from my exhaust that ive never heard before... WTF...

pop the hood, nothing sounds abnormal there... check the coolant levels, its low.. oil, its really f***ing low...

now, i know that my temp. sensors has a very small leak... so it always smelt like antifreeze... just top it off every few months.. but now theres a brown substance in my rad with my aniyfreeze, almost mud-like in color, doesnt really smell like oil either..

now for the oil, never had a puddle under the car, and still isnt one (i park underground, private parking space... there would be one there if it was leaking outside of the engine)

So im loosing both, so i dont think either are leaking into one an other?

what do you guys think? (probably just burning the oil... i do beat the **** out of it as i plan on rebuilding the engine this summer, but not till she blows...)

SpaceKid- what do you do for a living man? you haveanswers for everyhing, and i mean that in a non-sarcastic way (very helpfullperson)
and i dont that beating on her will only bring me problems, but like i said i plan on rebuiding the engine anyhow...but will now take it "easier' to make sure she last 'till mid-summer

Everyone else - she's a 3.4l... i was thinking gasket(s) as well... but would that cause the "gurgling" in my exhaust? sounds like there would be a pocketof fluid somewhere in the exhaust that the exhaust is pushing through, but its not constant...

If it is a gasket issue, i might as well just wait, or maybe use that "gasket filler' stuff... but ive hear mixed things about using that stuff...

Some common problems when you have a cracked/worn out head gasket are:

a rough engine, due to compression loss... exhaust gas can be forced into your cooling system, which would lead eventually to overheating and your oil will mix with antifreeze. coolant can start to leak into your cylinders forcing the exhaust to steam, and you can start to ruin you cat converter.

Well, im def. leaning on head gasget... i guess the steam could actually condensate in my exhaust system and actually have "lil puddles" in my exhaust system? maybe thats causing the "gurgling"

I just don't want to deal with that right now... well i guess there never really is a good time for that lol...

What am I looking realisticly here, how many hours... Im capable of doing this but i've only dealt with 4cyl engines before (im sure its less work as they only had one head, no, no DOHC...)

Any tips to make the job easier? other stuff to look at while im in there?

Anyone know a good shop the get my heads "resurfaced" if needed?

You could just head up to a mechanic, and get the head gasket tested to make sure.

but it definitely seems to be your case. I'm not too sure on the labor, never did it myself. But it was the problem in my first car when I let it go.
