Default K-Frame

Ok, so im in the market for a new(er) K-frame, reason being that it was slightly damaged in a accident by the previous owner, and the guy who does my alignment bitches because he has to "tweak" everything to make it work and he doesnt garantee it will stay aligned perfectly...

My brother found one in Windsor Ontario from an 2000 Impala, Im 99.99% sure that they are interchangeable (i beleive grand prix works too?), please correct me im wrong.

And i was also told they were made of aluminum, if so how much do you think of these weigh? if it steal forget it its going to cost way to much to ship.

It is aluminum. Off hand I would guess 15 to 20 lbs.

Impala should be a perfect fit but I can't be positive since the vehicle is 4 door. I would check with a gm dealership on the part numbers to be safe.

Check that. I might have them on me in my Helm manual. I will check it when I get back from Milwaukee.

I just called a Dealer, he said it would fit for sure and that it really doesn't weigh all that much...

So if anyone hasn't looked it up yet, no need to although the thought is appreciated!

At least now we'll know!

I totally forgot about this. The trip to Milwaukee was hell.

Sorry to bring this thread back up...

I never got around to getting one shipped from windsor.. I found a Grand prix (cant remember the exact year, but i beleive its 200-2004ish) motor/tranny is already out and i can get the kframe for 50$, GM said its a different part number, but what are they odds of it still fitting properly? Thanks for your input!

Get one of the same part # to insure it will fit. Maybe only a hole or 2 is different, but enough to be frustrating.
