Default Kev's 1979 Monte Carlo (frame off project)

so here's my project-car, my 1979 Monte Carlo 305.

I bought it december 2002 and I'm still on it. It's my hobby and I work on it every time when I have time and money or so LOL ..don't forget - I'm in Germany what makes more difficult to get parts and stuff.

current projects, rework the whole car, rebuild frame/suspension. Body will be painted something like gunmetal (dark grey).

I cleaned a lil bit the engine and added some chrome parts..

09/17/2007:

started to unscrew all stuff between body and frame..

09/18/2007:

09/19/2007:

yummy!!

unfortunately it's over a year now I had to stop work on it because of money issues. but I hope this year I can start again.

As I said before, want to rebuild everything. Want a clean & smooth car - good suspension, good brakes and nice look!

Feel free and post your thoughts and suggestions!

-Kev

Great project car. Good luck with the build. Looks like you have quite a bit of rust to take care of. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

thx guys!

found a guy offering a LS1 and T56. I only got these 2 pics of it..

I'm still waiting for more pics/information of the engine bay.. what do you guys think? I'm kinda afraid if the engine is okay? afraid it took a direct hit on the crank pulley..

okay time for an update. I bought a 59/60 impala dashboard..

..to do something like that:

http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15561
http://www.hzemall.com/our_gallery/i...al/install.htm

..but with some AutoMeter gauges..

my rims: 18x8 (front)

18x9.5 (rear)

started collecting parts:

ordered http://www.gsi-interiorss.com clutch pedal. you see I decided to go the LS1 & M6 route

found some pretty cool door handles:

by pressing the button the handle will come out. handles came off a european small car: a fiat barchetta

found the sheet metal to weld them in:
