I think a one of a kind Ford Mustang is pacing the 500 this year. It was just auctioned off last week and the owner gets to ride the pace laps and take the car home after the race. (edit)<-- Confirmed
I prefer the Camaro tho

Well congrats on the passes....sure looks like you are having alot of fun. The only track that I will go to is Kansas and that is because it is closest and I have the most luck of getting free tickets to it.
Watching this vids and reading this post and looking at the pics reminds me of a couple times that I got to ride along with my friend at a local track. From what I have heard, at the time it was the only track in the country that still had paved and dirt tracks and our car club got to take their cars out during intermission. To bad I didn't have the Monte then or I would have been driving her out there but I did ride shotgun. What was cool about this place is that there was surpose to be a pace car keeping us from going to fast...well there wasn't so on the straightways we was hitting 80+ and passing afew of our local club members. We didn't do any serious racing because we just don't have that kind of budget but it was a blast all the same. Street driven cars on the track with a bunch of local car nuts what better way to spend a nice spring or fall evening. Also I forgot to tell ya about the best part. After about 20 laps they had us stop and do burnouts for the crowd....oooo yea some of the people there give front wheel drive cars a good name for burn outs. Fun times. To bad the track has new owners now and they only open it up for 2 or 4 races a year and will not let us do it anymore.
Anyways man you enjoy the smell of burnt rubber and high octane fuel.
