Yup i will be at the DAYTONA 500! My mom and step day got us hooked up with NAPA VIP passes thanks to my step dads work! I normally go to Talladega races and stay in the pits for a week as you could see on my myspace page or facebook. I never really cared to go to dayton from stuff i herd about how bad traffic is and how crowded it is. Well free VIP tickets for a week is going to be sweet! Ill take pics! We had an extra ticket we gave to my friend TJ so he is happy too. We are also in a drawing to get to ride in the pace car during the race wish me luck!

GREAT news 4 SURE Daniel! We spent the week there in '04. Had a blast! That's the year Jr. won! Also the year of the 1st night truck race there, and we LOVE the trucks!
And we KNOW there'll be LOTS of pics, and we DO appreciate that, cuz you're part of the MCF family!

Have a ton of fun!!!! And I've seen Talladega and Daytona... Daytona has about 8 lanes divided going by the track and it's right at I-95... Talladega I think has 6 lanes each ways going to I-20 and it seems like there are less entrances to 'Dega.... but I've never been to either track on race weekend.

that is some funny stuff, how do u steal a pace car & than how do u expect to escape when ur on a race track?????

 

I think a common misconception about this video is that the man who stole the car intended to escape with it. I believe he knew the consequences and was willing ot face them. Today, when the fans are on pitroad before a race begins, the cars are well guarded and the pace car is watched by security guards. At the time, it was never considered that someone would try to steal the car. I think this man knew he could not get away, but all he wanted to do was have the ability to say "I stole the pace car at Talladega and drove around the track at 100 + mph!!!! And to this day, no matter what happened to him, he has ultimate bragging rights of having driven on Talladega Superspeedway and having stolen a pace car. I'm thinking this was before Richard Petty's Driving Experience and Dale Jarrett's Racing Adventure, so this was the only way most people could ever drive on a NASCAR track!
