remember those commericals a couples years ago where everybody is trimming an 8 in their yard, getting a tatoo... all the such. and jr. comes on in a press conference and announces they liek to shake things up, and for that reason are changing the number from 8 to 8.5?
the whole incident reminds me of that for some reason....
hey why don't he go with the 8.5 for that poor soul who had it tattooed on his arm. lol

Okay,just seeing if I got this straight.
So an owner/team would be like a football player wearing a certain number.
NASCAR would be like the football team (let's say the Lions).
So when #8 on the Lions gets traded to Dallas, he's not guaranteed the same number. Is this basically the same situation Dale Jr. is in?

The entire NASCAR circuit is likeONE football team, say, the Lions.
The owners are like the sports agents who specialize in quaterbacks, another sport agent specializes in linemen.
Ino longer want to be quarterback for the Lions, butwant to be a lineman for the Lions.
SoI fire my quarterback agent and hire an agent who specializes in lineman so I can get the most bucks due to his experiencefrom the Lions.
The Lions say that the rules state I can no longer wear no. 12 because that number is reserved for Lionquaterbacks.
So I am forced to take a number that is reserved for Lion lineman like 55 or 66.
Kinda, sorta, but not really exactly what's happening in NASCAR.

thats what i thought would happen, damn junior nation just absolutlely can't live without a big 8 on teh side of the car.... besdies, DEI has that particular design for hte 8 patented i'm sure, he can't have an 8 that looks anything like that, no she don't own the number, but she probably ahs the rights to a number LOOKING like that, justl ike somebody could use the 3 to this day, but the 3 that rode on earnhardt's car is patented and illegal to use in the design and color. lets give him a new number and start from scratch.
