This isn't necessarily true. Breaking something because it was over stressed, past what it was designed to handle, doesn't mean it was doomed in the first place under normal conditions. Obviously the more you stress stuff the more susceptible it is to failing.

To each their own.

I also agree I drive aggressive, its not a thrill to me to just drive around, I need that race or that burnout. I built turbo monte to have the thrill and when I built it I knew stuff would break and I was fine with that. in my eyes you modify a car to use it for how it was built and expect parts to break and wear out, if you don't want to replace parts then don't modify it and drive like a grandma lolol

and as for stock cars or near stock cars, I feel you should be able to push them to where the factory allows and you should be safe. the factory sets a rev of 6k because the engine is capable of 6k+ if it wasn't the factory wouldn't of set the rev limit that high. and yes parts may wear out a little faster by running it harder but I would rather enjoy driving it spirited then driving a grandma.

I see both sides here and what it comes down to is how you like to drive to get your thrill.... mine is fast and aggressive while others is slow and relaxed... its all on what you like and what is enjoyable to you that matters

See now you Youngins are making me feel like an Old Fart. Dust and all! I've only had YelloJAC up to 75 MPH. But in my defence, it's more important to me, How Fast YelloJAC gets to the speed I wanna do, not her top speed. How tight she can take a turn. How Solid she feels on the road, and how many heads she can turn her way as I cruise by and she Purrs at them.
That's not to take away from any of you, I think you should make your Driving Machine DRIVE! But I've spent quite a few years as a Limo and Bus driver. Believe me when I tell you, Driving a 35 foot long Excursion or a 45 foot bus in NYC will change the way you drive Everything for the rest of your life.
Besides, when I get the Need for Speed, I put on a helmet and get on my son'sYamaha FX8 and fly! But that don't happen often!
My speed is 73. I set my cruise control and Go. If you see me commin in your lane and you wanna do 65, please move over, cause I ain't slowin down!

I'll admit, I do give my car a nice burst of speed up to 120 when I'm on a highway every once in a while. I like the way she sounds, besides a Malibu was trying to get my attention to race. I floored it to let him know what he was going up against.

i had to comment on these parts ive been driving wireline trucks in the oil field for a while now and i know what you mean on they change the way you drive (in a vehicle of this size that is ) after i get back from driving a huge turd like these i cant wait to get in turbo monte and feel some real go fast power!!

now for the bike thing..... all i will say is please be careful, ive owned a 2004 cbr600f4i and have done some stupid stuff on it and its way to easy to get hurt on one by speeding, riding wheelies etc... i lost a few people on bikes over the years as well hence why i no longer have one.... i decided to make a car fast that way at least i have some metal around me not saying that you cant get killed in a car but your odds are better.

dont get me wrong bikes are a blast to ride as long as you respect them, as soon as you loose respect for the bike get off of it.... i miss my bike but will not buy another one because i know i wont respect it and end up badly hurt or killed.

Default Turbo

I know, I double fractured my left knee and tour the ACL and Maniscis in 04 on my Magna 750 over getting cut off by a kid in a Honda. The Dr says I should not be able to walk much less walk like a human, with out having surgery. But I do. I am Very determined and lucky. But that
Is always in my mind when I ride. I'm actually a Cruiser type of guy. No wheelees or speeding down the hw at Warp 9.9. Again my thrill is getting to the speed I wanna travel at FAST, I've only gone over 100 MPH twice on a bike once in a car, My 87 IRoc350 that I worked to 300hp. I've gotten Very conservative in my old age. But if I ever get YelloJAC to a track I will test her abilities and Mine. Till then,73 is my top speed. getting there in 1.15 seconds is my goal!

Hello all... Just had to chime in... I in no way baby or excessively abuse my Monte... She has been to 220km and back several times in a very safe environment... I have laid down rubber to the point that I could collect some of it back... I have taken corners where the front end gets a little loose and the back end starts kicking out... I guess my point is, that for me, the thrill of driving is what leads me to these types of cars... If I did not have the bug, then I would probably be happy with a Toyota Corola and be oblivious to what I was missing... Bottom line, always drive safely and in safe environments, enjoy the sound of your CAI at WOT often, lay down some rubber, open the sunroof and windows at a decent speed and feel the rush of fresh air through your hair, engage in some good fun racing and show your inner warrior... And last but not least, things will break, things will wear out, and we will fix, repair and fully enjoy them again...
