i dont know that is why i am asking about the ls and the lt on the 7th gen i know i have more options then majority of the guy's that have ls's. I know i dont havelike two things that others have on there lt's like independent climet controll's and volume controlls on the steering wheel. i know it has the speeker hook ups for the speekers for the pillars but i took them out do to they were blown after a week after owning the car but i filled the holes with caps that were ment for a mazda 3. I never got the chance to replace them i dont have factory amps but i would have replaced them when i got the car if they were there. but i dont know if there are a ls in the 7th gen model that puzzeles me. to your answer cap i dont know

The insurance people are idiots if thats what they think...

In 2006 there WAS an LS, LT (1,2 and 3), LTZ, and SS. The LS came with Steels and wheel covers. 1LT's came stock with 16inch aluminum painted wheels, and 2LT's came stock with the 16" aluminum wheel with optional 17" aluminums, 3LT's and LTZ's came stock with 17" aluminum wheels, and SS's came stock with 18" aluminum wheels.

If you have an LT, its not a package for the LS, the LT is an actual trim level, and all LT's came with aluminum alloy wheels wether it be 16" or 17".

Now, I THOUGHT that ONLY LS models had the turn *** for the climate control, and ALL other models, starting at the 1LT had the dual zone climate controls. I have a 1LT, and I HAVE the dual zone climate controls. Unless its an option that I just happen to have???

I'm pretty sure that ALL of the 3.5L V6's offered in the Monte Carlo were Flex-Fuel. I know mine is a LT, and I have the Flex-Fuel 3.5L.

Hey, I just checked your pics out...did you buy your Monte new??? Based on the fact that you have a surfboard spoiler, I would think that your Monte DID NOT come from the factory with the 17" wheels. Every 7th gen i've seen with the 17" wheels has always had the race inspired spoiler (because I think the wheels and spoiler came as part of a package added to LT's). Is it possible that the previous owner added the 17" wheels? Or maybe the dealer had them as take off's from someone who put aftermarkets on a new Monte, so the dealer threw the 17" wheels on your Monte, and added a mark up to the MSRP price???

I just have never seen a Monte with the surfboard and 17" wheels straight from the factory.

Because the insurance is probably looking at your options via VIN number I would assume.

Hi John,
Sorry to read that your tires/rim's were stolen

What does your title reflect ?
Below infor is from Edmounds

Summary
What Edmunds.com says
The 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo offers a roomy cabin, surprising fuel efficiency (with the V6) and a decent ride and handling balance for a sticker price thousands less than more refined but less accommodating rivals.
Pros
Roomy cabin, relatively low sticker price, an engine for everyone.
Cons
Vague steering detracts from handling, stark cabin design.
What's New for 2007
For the 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the changes are few but significant. The LTZ and the 3900 (3.9-liter) V6 engine are dropped; a non-E85 version of the 3500 V6 (3.5-liter) becomes standard for California-level emissions states; and the LT's option packages are simplified.
2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Vehicle Overview
Introduction

The Chevy Monte Carlo represents one of the last surviving members of the personal luxury coupe market. Often placing flashy looks ahead of more practical concerns such as passenger space and optimum outward visibility, this type of vehicle enjoyed more successful days in the '70s and '80s when people thought that long hoods, smallish rear seats and padded vinyl tops with small quarter-windows were cool.
Thankfully, the 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo has little in common with its gold-chain-wearing predecessors. The current Monte shares a platform with the Impala and combines a spacious cabin with the styling pizzazz of a two-door coupe. A number of recent changes, such as a stiffer structure, a lineup of more powerful engines (including a V8 for the SS version), upgraded cabin materials and cleaned-up styling have made the vehicle a more competitive choice than in years past.

Consumers interested in a midsize coupe for '07 will find the choices somewhat limited. Perhaps the Monte's closest rival is Pontiac's G6 coupe, which uses the same 3.5-liter V6 and boasts an even roomier cabin. The Ford Mustang is sportier, but its rear seat is small. In terms of overall quality and refinement, the Monte Carlo loses out to the Accord coupe and Camry Solara, but counters with a lower price. Overall, the Chevy stacks up pretty well. With trim levels ranging from the fuel-efficient (31 mpg highway) LS and LT versions to the 303-horsepower SS, the 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a solid choice for those wanting a midsize vehicle with a bit more "personal luxury" than the average family sedan.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a midsize two-door coupe that comes in three trim levels: LS, LT and SS. The LS model comes with 16-inch wheels, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a tilt steering wheel and keyless entry. Stepping up to the LT model gets you 17-inch alloy wheels,<~ (Show this 2 StateFarm) a rear spoiler surfboard on the LS & Nascar Spoiler on the LT, dual-zone air-conditioning, a remote vehicle starter and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The Monte Carlo SS brings a V8, 18-inch wheels, a performance-tuned suspension, XM satellite radio, leather seating with heaters up front, foglamps and full-perimeter ground effects. Some of these features are available as options on the LS and LT. A sunroof is the main stand-alone option.
Powertrains and Performance
The standard engine for the LS and LT is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 211 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. The SS has a 5.3-liter V8 making 303 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque. All models employ a responsive four-speed automatic transmission (heavy-duty in the SS) that sends the power through the front wheels. The 3.5 has strong pull around town along with respectable passing power, along with fuel ratings of 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. The SS's burbling V8 thrills with its strong acceleration, but laying into it too often will pull fuel mileage into the mid teens, despite ratings of 18 city and 28 highway.
Safety
Antilock brakes and traction control are standard on the LT and SS; they're optional on the LS. Front-seat side airbags are optional on all Monte Carlos. In NHTSA frontal crash tests, the 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo received five stars (out of five). Side-impact tests on a Monte without side airbags resulted in three stars for the front occupants and four stars for those in back.
Interior Design and Special Features
As far as coupes go, the Monte Carlo is spacious and comfortable. The seats are wide and can accommodate a variety of drivers, and even the rear seats are usable by adults. Cabin fit and finish is much improved, thanks to last year's updates, and the car's somewhat stark ambiance is offset with splashes of metallic trim. Features such as an input jack for portable music players and optional heated front seats make the Monte Carlo most accommodating on long trips.
Driving Impressions
The Chevy Monte Carlo handles well enough to suit its intended buyer. Large four-wheel disc brakes and meaty performance tires give it respectable stopping power and grip, but the steering doesn't communicate enough road feel to make this big coupe feel sporty. The fact that it only comes with an automatic transmission doesn't help either, but at least both engines are torquey off the line. While the SS model may be appealing to buyers hungry for power, installing a V8 of this size in a front-wheel-drive car invariably results in torque steer and a nose-heavy feel.

My Monte came from the factory as a 1LT. Options included everything with the 1LT package (16" painted aluminum wheels, dual zone climate control, compass/ temp, and whatever else the 1LT package had) The the side impact airbags were added too.

I added the race inspired spoiler, and chrome plated my factory wheels, along with the leather, grilles, etc. etc...

See this is why I am confused with your Monte...it says that in 2007, the LT's came standard with the Nascar spoiler AND 17" wheels...you have the surfboard. Are you sure the 17" wheels were not added after the car rolled off the assembly line? And because you have the regular climate control, and surfboard spoiler, I think your car IS an LS model....

In 2006 the LT's had different options, which is why my LT had the surfboard spoiler.

when i baught it new and when they were cleening it the messed up my original spoiler wich i didnt like for some reson i like the surfboard look to be honest with you. i had problems with the dual climat controlls they took it off and put this one on wich i didnt like but it works i think it droped the value of my monte badly when i seen my monte i loved it. i am glag that i dont have the stereo controlls on the seering wheel do to what i heared from what happened to the two others i spoke to about it on how they liked the option. they told me it works intermedeatly i dont know if you have that have you had problems with yours. besides i baught it new with 17 inch withdual climat but when the dealer fixed my ac they said it was the climat controll switch that was making it not work. i want the dual climat controlls and the 17 inch rims back badly.i dont want the insurance companys think it is a ls even though it is a lt. i know i have beater seats then a ls of my year and i do know the ls felt like it was flimsy to me the lt wich i have i like i just miss those two options that were on the car. dual climat controlls and the 17 inch rims not a steel type wich it has on it

i know the car didnt come with the radio controlls on the wheel wich i like i didnt like the volume controlls on the stering wheel do to if you go with a different stereo they dont work unless the shop knows how to sync them but that is extra i do have keyless entry and auto start. i didnt like the thin style spoiler but i do like the surfboard style thats why i changed it after it broke at the dealer. the rims and the dual cliamat controlls the dealer wich pissed me off they changed it to the ls type wich i dont like after i had ac trubble. i want to change it back it is like 160 for the controlls. but it will be changed back shortly.
