I was kinda curious what the fine was here in the province of Ontario. But don't want to find out the hard way.

haha I'm just messin. Thumbs up : ))

I've gotten em a few times when I had the Rytek script on my filler plate. It was always a $10 fix-it ticket.
I would just go a CHP station with the plate on, get it signed off, and then take the plate right off around the corner....LOL, I just hate the license plate...opps...lol I just notice I wrote that...

I agree...

I, in the other hand, i love it.
I think without it, the Monte looks incomplete.

Here in Oklahoma, thx God, we only need the rear plate. When I went to NJ to visit last year, coppers would come out of the wood works everytime they saw my monty with only one plate. In Virginia I got pulled over because of it and the tint.

I wonder if a petition or campaign of somekind to convince state (or province) law makers that not having a front plate is "more earth friendly" would work? LOL.

That is very good reason. the plates are designed to be reflective of light so that they can read by auto-readers from a distance. Even the font of the plates is standardized so they can be read by scanners.

To combat the lasers I coated mine with the laser veil coating and it dramatically reduced the reflected light. I put it on my daily driver plate cover, and the headlights - as they are the common target points for a cop using laser speed readers.

I've been pulled over before for not having a plate on the Monte - but I talked my way out of it by saying I was coming back from a car show and forgot to put it back on. I also had the plate in the car as well.
