How are the Roads in Your Area?
#21
We have some roads that are VERY bad and they are already bracing us for the "non-repair" of those roads. Saying how they have spent so much on snow removal that they now can't afford to fix the roads.
I have read where you can actually hold a municipality responsible for damage to your vehicle from a pot hole. Supposedly once they are "notified" of a bad pot hole that could potentially cause damage that they are now responsible for fixing it OR they can be held liable for any subsequent damage it causes to a vehicle. You can't get them for the "current" damage it may have caused but you can for any subsequent damage. I actually used that one time in an email to the county and took a pic of a pot hole that had almost knocked my wheel off and described where it was in the road and how far from the next cross road and so forth. They were actually out there in the next 2 weeks and fixed it. Now I'm not sure if it was coincidence or not but it seemed very strange. LOL
