I do all my own work to partly because i'm too cheap to have it done. Or maybe too Poor

 

I have this 2002 Explorer that needs the heater temp control motor changed. You basically have to remove the dash to do it. There's an example of one I'm not going to do. LOL

 

That's one of my reasons too. PLUS, then I am not at the mercy of when a mechanic can repair my car (I get my car back in action faster by DIY).

 

I like to thank my dad for that. He made me get under the car with him and do my own car work. He said you cant trust anyone with your cars. Once i took my 97 Z28 (R.I.P.) for spark plug change, MF's! only changed 6 and left the back 2. So i get home and checked them cause i knew they wouldnt, yup good il 6 & 8 werent changed. i went back and let them have a piece of mind. HA I they gave me 25 bucks back. Got that money and bought a 12 pack and didem myself.

 

I have never even thought about paying somebody else to change my oil. Maybe it is just me, but my father raised me to do as much to my own things as I can. Doesn't matter the season for me either haha. I've changed my oil while seeing my breath before. I always give my girlfriend guff because she always forks out cash to have hers changed when I have told her time and time again that I would do it for free.
