Horn Alarm
When I hit the release button for the trunk either on the key or inside the car the alarm goes off and the horn blows until I hit the button on the key. Is there something wrong or is there a way to change this? Thank you

I know on my '04 intimidator, if the doors are locked and I try to unlock the trunk, I get that too.
It's part of the built-in security system. Just make sure your doors aren't locked when you try to get into the trunk.

also if you hit the trunk button, and wait a little bit of time, and then touch the trunk to open it the alarm will go off.
maybe that timer is running wrong?
I know on my car when i'm grocery shopping, i hit the trunk early and then walk over to the car, and then when i finally get there sometimes my alarm goes off.

I'd look in the Operators Manual for programming the Key Fob.
If my car is locked, I can't open the Trunk with the Remote unless I Unlock the car ... first. If the car is unlocked, the Trunk Opens and the Back-up Lights come on.
My Remote also has a Panic Button ... that sets-off the Alarm and flashes the Lights. We use it to find the car after the movie lets out.

Is it possible you need to re-learn the remote key fob? I believe it's in the manual. I'll have to check. Or maybe a security setting that's mentioned in the manual also.

Here’s how to do it:[/align][align=left]1. Open the door.[/align][align=left]2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or[/align][align=left]the remote keyless entry transmitter. The light on[/align][align=left]the radio should come on and stay on. If you[/align][align=left]are using the remote keyless entry transmitter, the[/align][align=left]door does not need to be open.[/align][align=left]3. Close all doors. The light on the radio will slowly[/align][align=left]flash once the system is armed.[/align][align=left]Once armed, the alarm will go off if someone tries to[/align][align=left]enter the vehicle (without using the remote keyless entry[/align][align=left]transmitter or a key) or turns the ignition on with an[/align][align=left]incorrect key. Press the TUNE DISP button to start programming.[/align][align=left]When the message PUSH FOB flashes, press and[/align][align=left]hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the[/align][align=left]first transmitter at the same time for 15 seconds.[/align][align=left]A chime will be heard to verify the transmitter[/align][align=left]is learned.[/align][align=left]4. Repeat Step 3 for each additional transmitter.[/align][align=left]The transmitter is programmed now. Scroll, using the SEEK PSCAN up or down arrows,[/align][align=left]until FOB PROG appears on the display.[/align][align=left]2. Press the 1 PREV or 2 NEXT button to enter the[/align][align=left]submenu. BEGIN will be displayed.[/align][align=left]3. Press the TUNE DISP button to start programming.[/align][align=left]When the message PUSH FOB flashes, press and[/align][align=left]hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the[/align][align=left]first transmitter at the same time for 15 seconds.[/align][align=left]A chime will be heard to verify the transmitter[/align][align=left]is learned.[/align][align=left]4. Repeat Step 3 for each additional transmitter.[/align][align=left]The transmitter is programmed now. ....... I never use the actual key for neither the door or the trunk. I always use the remote fob. When returning to my car after shopping, I hit the button for the trunk before I unlock the door all the time.............
Didn't Mr. space post on here about thieves waiting for people to hit their key FOB to lock their vehicles at the mall. They would use a programmer to grab the codes then use the information to break in to people's cars while they were inside the mall shopping.
