Help me buy insurance
He said he clocked me at 92 when I was passing a car about a 1/4 mile behind him but knocked it down to 90 as he didn't want to argue over 2 mph. If this sticks at 90 it would be the same as the first, but instead of paying $109 like I did the first time it will come to $140.
lots of times when people get a ticket, they just mail in the money and "put it behind them". show up in court... dress nicely (a suit and tie if you got one), and have your hair fixed nicely... make sure to shave well, and be polite, maybe if it was a clear day and light traffic argue that the conditions were still safe (depends on your states laws.. I hear the west can be lenient about htat).
My son took Defensive Driving onlne for ticket removal. He hated it and wanted to just pay it. I told him not no but hell no, he was taking the class either in person or online, his choice, but he was taking it. I wasn't having my insurance go through the roof because he wanted to play, and hopefully it'll make him think a little next time he wants to speed.
being curious i was wondering how much everyone pays for auto insurance for their montes a month? My car is insured under my dads name with me (an 18 yr old male with no violations of any kind) as an "occasional driver" yet i pay 207 a month, this month i got "dick-slapped" (to quote my dad) with some kind of premium resulting in a $350 insurance bill. I know my car is hot and everything but when i have to pay 350 in insurance on a car that i'm paying 340 for in financing it seems like something is wrong...
Full coverage on my MC would break down to about $45/month but LIABILTY ONLYon my 20 yr old son's Honda Civic comes to about $66/month. He's on our policy or it would be higher. It's just ridiculous that his liability is that much higher than my full coverage and will be 'til he's 25.
Ouch pheonix, I think after that first ticket mine went from about 50 for full up to about 250 afterwards, this one is really gonna screw it up.
I've still got 3 weeks till the court date, and hopefully they'll let me take a course.

I'm 21 with no violations/accidents and my wife is 20 w/no vios or accidents and we have fully coverage (in my name) on our '05Malibu Classic (100,000/300,000 liability limits)and basic coverage with comprehensive (in case I hit a dear) on the '99 Z34 and we pay $210/month. On my '06 Aveo when I had that (before I got married and had a baby) I was paying $150/month for full coverage. Oh, on my '89 LeSabre with basic coverage I was paying $35/month.
) That was when I was 18...I waited until my rates dropped to get a Monte!

You need to buy a good radar detector andPAY ATTENTIONwhen you're driving/speeding. (No cell phone, turn down the tunes, LOOK for cops, both ahead and behind.)
Between those two things, I have never even been pulled over for speeding, much less gotten a ticket for it.
Trust me, the various radar detectors I've had over the years have saved me thousands of dollars in fines and insurance premiums, but they won't do you a bit of good if you're not paying attention. With instant on radar, they get you in a heartbeat, so you have to see them first. Fortunately, most cops can't help themselves, and blast everything in site, even with instant on.
Also, not sure where you live, but once in a while here in Ohio you have to look UP, too. The OHP has their own fleet of small planes for clocking traffic/revenue enhancement.
