chevy small to mid suv and trucks are basicully the izuzu versions. same way as for is to mazda look at ford edge exept some body tweeks the edge is the cx9 and cx7 the ford excape is the mazda tribute the ford mid sise cars like the new ford tarus is the mazda gt v6 turbo and the ford focus the 05 to 2010 is the mazda 3 the older ford focus use to use volvo design and power plants till they relized the power plants from volvo were pore design. the new collorado is the izuzu hombre exept for some body changes. the desels in the 2500 chevy and gmc use the izuzu style engins from there bigger style work trucks. what i am saying go to the local dealer act like you want to look at a ford or mazda or a chevy you will see on side of the engine you will see this. for chevy colorado to gmc and chevy full size trucks and cars after 05 you will see this izuzu stamp on the side of the head it should be on the left or the right side in bold leters. for a mazda the same thing you will see the ford stamp even though it is a mazda engine. on a for you will see a mazda stamp except on the v8 and desels on ford. those are mazda design but ford made parts for chevy they relie on izzuzu design and built. except for the v8 engins and the comaro v6
sorry i dont mean to make a world wind or a argument just throwing it out there.

You're correct. GM has used a lot of Isuzu's engine's (Duramax diesel, Trailblazer's I6, Colorado's I5). GM and Isuzu go back a little bit too. IIRC they've been doing things together since the early 90's (think Geo Storm).

Yes both companies have relationships with the other, Ford and Mazda have been working together for years:

Same with GM and isuzu
Actually when you really dive into things you start to realize there's only a handful of companies that own some or all of the other car companies.

the storm was my first vehicle i baught man i beat that thing to heak and back i was suprised it lasted till i got my mustang then relised i miss some thing that ride hight range and a bowtie.man i miss that little thing i never did the oil amd i never did a tune up i was suprised it ran for 210k miles. when i traded it in it barely moved under its power just glad it was a manuel. if i still had to get it again then i would have taken care of it better. just glad i have two i noticed when ever i have a bowtie and a blue ovel it seems like three want to run no mater what. i am always a big chevy and ford fan and so is my dad. if it is not a new chevy it is a new ford and vise versa. my dads old 76 malibu clasic lasted till 450k till it vibrated and threw a rod out the side and said i am done. same way with his 82 f150 it finnally died at five miles less but when he closed the door for the last time on both the wheels and doors fell off. yes the doors fell off when the tow truck got them so did the wheels when they went down the street. that is why i am a big fan of both chevy and ford and always have both when ever i am able to have both to drive.

you know the ford focus recalls are on the models that were the volvo design and volvo engine. when ford and mazda were redesigning the v8 4.6 and the new 5.0 they were using volvo engines in some of there cars. except for the v8.

If you've seen any of this season's episodes of "Trucks!" on Spike TV, you know about project Rolling Thunder. In the second episode they show that a Mazda B2300 was actually a Ford Ranger. They even showed the plate under the hood that read, "Built in the USA by Ford".
By the way, their project Rolling Thunder is really cool. They're taking a 2001 Mazda B2300 (it'll be rebadged as a Ford when they're done), and stuffing a 4.6L V8 from a Mercury Murauder into it.

chevy's in bed with izuzu and ford's in bed with mazda. not that their products are bad. although im not into the I5 colorodos. big turds IMO, lol.
its definitly more noticable with the small trucks. the colorodo is a hombre with a bowtie in the grille, before that isuzu had an S10 with izuzu in the grille center. the fords are a tiny bit more distinguished, but my ranger is basicly exactly the same as my buddies '98 b2300, only differance is his has an entire differant grille, bumper & headlights.
